Compare all you like. Just look at the imagery.

Almost nobody in this market puts a price on their website. THE REAL MAG. does, and below you see it next to the best known alternatives. Only figures the vendors publish themselves, with the source. And the image beside this is exactly the point: that is not a photograph, it comes out of a configuration.

The prices side by side

Seven vendors, the same question.

Vendor What it costs What else you should know
THE REAL MAG. €150 to €600 per month
+ one-off build from €5,000
Every figure is on our own pricing page. 3D models from €10 each, depending on volume and complexity, a connection to your webshop or stock system €1,200 per connection.
Combeenation From €697 per month
+ implementation €10,000 to €100,000+
States itself that an average project costs between €30,000 and €60,000 to implement, on top of the monthly licence.
Roomle €100 to €1,450 per month
Enterprise on request
Charges per view and per configurator: 180,000 views a year, 10 to 15 configurators and 1 domain in the product configuration plans.
Zakeke $69.90 / $129.90 / $299.90 per month
+ 1.5% to 1.9% per product sold
The only one here with a transaction fee: a percentage comes off everything sold through Zakeke. Plus a ceiling of 10, 50 or 100 published products.
Elfsquad Not published Says it charges a fixed fee without per-user costs, but publishes no amount. Visualisation is a separate module and the platform is built for you to bring your own viewer.
Expivi Not published The price follows after a fifteen minute demo call. The site does quote client results, but no rates.
Threekit Not published States literally that pricing is custom and depends on your situation. You go through an intake and a project survey first.

Do the maths: on €500,000 of revenue through the configurator, a 1.5% transaction fee costs you €7,500 a year, every year, on top of the subscription. With THE REAL MAG. you pay nothing per order.

Four differences that matter

Why we are built differently.

Our price is simply on the website

Three packages, a monthly amount and a build amount THE REAL MAG. agrees up front. No hourly rates and no invoice afterwards. Of the six other vendors above, three publish no price at all.

Photo quality from a real rendering pipeline

THE REAL MAG. comes from 3D visualisation, not from quotation software. The same pipeline that produces campaign imagery for brands such as Nubikk, Komatsu and Royal Mosa delivers the imagery inside the configurator. Real time to rotate, rendered where it has to be sharp.

No counter on your visitors

With plans that cap views, you pay more the moment your campaign works. With THE REAL MAG. there is no limit on views or on the number of products you show.

We automated the upkeep

Choosing a configurator is a decision for years, because after that every new product has to go into it. THE REAL MAG. has automated that work, including the routine 3D work underneath. For BMN that came to a 45% saving per product. It keeps expanding affordable instead of turning every addition into another quotation.

Whatever does not fit, we build

THE REAL MAG. does the building itself. A connection to your webshop or stock system, a dedicated render backend or scanning your products is not a request to a supplier here, it is work we do in house.

What that means in practice

The same configuration, a different time of day.

Veranda in daglicht, dezelfde configuratie
Afternoon
Dezelfde veranda in de avond met verlichting aan
Evening

Same model, same camera, different light. That is the difference between showing a product and letting a buyer feel how it will look at their place. Real-time 3D alone does not get you there.

Fair is fair

What they do better. And where we bow out.

A comparison in which the author wins everything is worth nothing. So: here is what they do better, and here is where we are deliberately the wrong choice.

Elfsquad and Combeenation: a package that stands on day oneDealer management, bills of material and ERP connections come in the box. If you want to buy a ready-made CPQ and you fit their model, you are up and running faster there. But do not assume THE REAL MAG. cannot build that chain: our bathroom configurator for BMN Home handles quotation logic, buildability rules and assortment data, and goes further than a standard CPQ because it configures complete rooms instead of separate articles. We automate our own company with AI, from bookkeeping to lead follow-up, so that side is familiar ground.
Zakeke: the cheapest startThe fastest way to add simple personalisation to a Shopify or WooCommerce store. A name, colour or logo on an existing product, live tomorrow. If that is enough, you do not need to call us. Do watch that transaction fee once you start growing.
Roomle: a single item from the catalogueReady made for furniture brands, with AR out of the box. If your product fits their catalogue model, you go live quickly. The moment you want to show arrangements together, or sell a complete room instead of separate pieces, that model runs out. That is exactly where THE REAL MAG. comes in.
And where we are not the answerIf you want to manage everything yourself in a self-service tool, or the lowest price is the goal, THE REAL MAG. is the wrong party. We do not deliver a kit, we deliver the finished result. Anyone shopping for cheap and do-it-yourself is better off with a platform.

Top: tiles, sanitary ware, furniture and taps in one room, every combination buildable. Bottom left: ten colours of the same wall from one scene, exactly what a variant configurator has to do. Bottom right: the same engine in a living room. This kind of imagery is why people come to THE REAL MAG. after trying a platform.

Why we bet on imagery

The kid-in-a-toyshop effect.

A configurator is not a form. It has to do what a shop window does: make someone want the thing. Business buyers included, because that is exactly where the myth of the purely rational decision maker refuses to die. The research says otherwise.

Almost 50% more likely to buy

Google and CEB surveyed 3,000 business buyers. Those who feel an emotional connection with a supplier are almost half again as likely to buy. And the personal value a solution offers weighs twice as heavily as the business value.

1.7 against 1.0 in brand effect

Binet and Field measured campaigns over many years: emotional campaigns deliver 1.7 brand effects on average against 1.0 for rational ones, and win on all seven metrics measured, from trust to differentiation. In B2B too.

44% more often added to cart

From Shopify's own figures: shoppers who viewed a product as a 3D model added it to the cart 44% more often, and those who placed it in their own room in AR bought 65% more often.

That is why THE REAL MAG. puts its money into the imagery and not into the form. A render that matches what will actually be delivered sells harder than a list of options, and less comes back because the buyer saw what they were getting.

In short

Which one should you choose?

The trade-off between building your own and taking an existing platform, with a decision rule and the exit cost, is in have a 3D configurator built or buy software.

Your product is bought with the eyesBathroom, furniture, veranda, trailer, packaging: if the buyer has to see it before daring to commit, image quality is the difference between looking and buying. That is where THE REAL MAG. is the logical choice.
You mainly need quoting and order logicIs it about pricing rules, bills of material and dealers, with imagery as a side issue? Then take a CPQ vendor.
You want bothThat works. These platforms allow an external visualisation, so THE REAL MAG. builds the imagery and connects it to the CPQ you already run. You do not have to choose between a solid order chain and solid imagery.

Still unsure? We will build an example with your own product free of charge, so you can look instead of compare.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us most often.

What does a 3D product configurator cost?

At THE REAL MAG. you pay 150 to 600 euro per month plus a one-off build price from 5,000 euro. Other vendors sit higher or publish no price at all: Combeenation starts at 697 euro per month with an implementation of 10,000 to over 100,000 euro, Roomle charges 100 to 1,450 euro per month with a cap on views, Zakeke charges 69.90 to 299.90 dollar per month plus a 1.5 to 1.9 percent transaction fee per product sold, and Elfsquad, Expivi and Threekit only name an amount after a conversation.

What is the difference between a CPQ and a 3D configurator?

A CPQ is quotation software: pricing rules, bills of materials and order handling, with visualisation as an add-on module. A 3D configurator starts from the image the buyer sees. For products bought with the eyes, image quality weighs more heavily; for complex order chains the CPQ weighs more heavily. The two can be linked together.

Is there a limit on the number of visitors to a configurator?

With some vendors there is. Roomle, for instance, works with 180,000 views per year and a limited number of configurators per package. At THE REAL MAG. there is no counter on the number of views or products.
